From "L´Atlas curieux, ou Le Monde representé dans les cartes generales, et particulieres de ciel et de la terre" Nicholas de Fer (1646-1720) was a cartographer, engraver and publisher who issued more than 600 maps, including atlases, sheet maps and large wall maps. The Atlas Curieux was his acknowledged masterpiece.

Carte des Possessions Angloises & Francoises du Continent de l´Amerique Septentrionale. Mapmaker/ Publisher: Palairet, Jean. Time: 1756. This fascinating map is the second state of one of the best maps of the colonies on the eve of the French and Indian War. Mr. Palairet was the Agent to the States General in London. In 1755 he published the pamphlet "A Concise Description of the English and French Possessions in North America." The map was engraved by Thomas Kitchen and intricately coloured to show the disputed lands, forts, roads, and the extend of settlement in the region. Embellished with a delicately engraved title cartouche. Fine original colour.

Time: 1775.First state of this handsome sailing chart of the gulf, embracing Nova Scotia, Newfoudland and New Britain, complete with rhumb lines, soundings, shoals and numerous notations. The coastlines are presented in great detail with a profusion of harbours and ports being named. A table of Astronomical Observations lists the latitude and longitude of various major ports. This is an excellent example of the work of Thomas Jeffreys, one of the most outstanding English cartographers of the late 18th century.
